PROJECT DETAILS:
The post-consumer resin market needs to grow in Quebec and Canada, as it does worldwide. Market outlets for recovered plastics are limited, and the quality of post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin remains a pressing challenge that must be addressed in the short term. The companies PolyExpert, Modix Plastique, and Premier Tech have partnered to enable the recovery of horticultural plastic bag waste. This project aims to develop a high-quality PCR resin from a local circular economy loop, with raw materials sourced within Quebec.
This collaboration seeks to invigorate the circular economy by giving plastic waste a second life, thereby reducing the environmental impact of plastics and contributing to the sustainable development of local communities.
We support the establishment of a new circular value chain for the plastic recycling industry by shifting from a linear consumption model to a circular economy. Our initiative focuses on recycling and valorizing plastic residues. Through this partnership, we contribute to reducing the volume of plastic waste destined for landfills, natural environments, or incineration, while also decreasing the consumption of virgin plastic resins.
