Capillary-driven microfluidic–nanophotonic platform for the quantitative and multiplexed detection of mycotoxins (MycoSense)
PROJECT COST:
2 578 440 $
PRIMA CONTRIBUTION:
993 468 $
PROJECT DETAILS:
Mycotoxins are toxic fungal contaminants found in food, yet current detection methods are slow and require laboratory analysis. The project aims to develop a smart microfluidic cartridge to fully automate every step of the testing process—from extraction to detection—within a portable system. Using ultrasensitive nanoparticles, the biosensor will detect multiple mycotoxins in under 20 minutes, thereby enhancing food safety and reducing economic losses.
