The project focuses on additive manufacturing in the context of new electronic devices. The project’s scientific team recently demonstrated the printing of a resistive random-access memory (ReRAM) structure using an inkjet printer. The performance of this low-cost structure is comparable to that of structures manufactured in a cleanroom. Printing on flexible substrates opens the door to new applications such as smart “RFID tags” or many other “on-demand” electronic devices, manufactured at the point of use. In collaboration with Plasmionique, a company specializing in the development of micro- and nanofabrication equipment, the main objective of this project is to demonstrate an integrated system for “on-demand” printing, including substrate processing, printing of the resistive switch cell, and sintering of the silver nanoparticle ink using microwave radiation. This project falls under the TRL 4–6 category, following recent achievements in the optimization and stable, reliable replication of these devices on flexible substrates.
