Marie-Pierre Ippersiel is President and Chief Executive Officer at PRIMA Qu\u00e9bec since 2016. Prior to this, she spent over six years working as Vice-President for the cleantech industry cluster \u00c9cotech Qu\u00e9bec. Among other responsibilities, she managed the cluster\u2019s operations, coordinated steering committees and developed a variety of content (dissertations, studies, etc.). As Research Advisor for the Montreal Metropolitan Community (MMC) between 2004 and 2010, she helped implement the primary tools used in the Greater Montr\u00e9al Economic Development Plan, including the cluster strategy. In 2003, she produced a report on innovation in Quebec municipalities for the Conseil de la science et de la technologie. Ms. Ippersiel holds a PhD in Urban Studies from the INRS \u2013 Centre Urbanisation Culture Soci\u00e9t\u00e9, where she focused on science\/industry relations and technological support for SMEs in college technology transfer centres. For over 25 years, she has focused on the dynamics of innovation ecosystems and their actors.<\/p>\n
She took part in the Governor General\u2019s Canadian Leadership Conference in 2017 and co-chaired the Net-Zero Advisory Body from 2021 to 2023. Laura then obtained her Masters in teaching, education and training at the University of Aix- Marseille (France) in 2014, with a specialty in Medico-Social Sciences and Techniques which allowed her to teach and train students for their social and professional integration in the social and health fields.<\/p>\n Since arriving in Canada in 2019, Laura has shifted to more administrative jobs in order to develop her skills and put her organizational skills forward. As a Materials Science Engineer at the Universit\u00e9 Catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), he obtained his doctorate on non noble metal catalyst for oxygen reduction for fuel cells in 2003 from the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique – \u00c9nergie Mat\u00e9riaux et T\u00e9l\u00e9communication (INRS-EMT) while working under Prof. Dodelet, a world leader in the field. After obtaining his Master’s Degree in Organic, Analytical and Marine Environmental Chemistry from the Institut Universitaire Europ\u00e9en de la Mer (France) in 2002, he completed his PhD in Electrochemistry in 2007 at University College Cork (Ireland) as part of the Surface Active Sites and Exhaust Fumes European network. With a passion for materials structuring (meso to nano) in the field of electrocatalysis, functionalized nanoparticles and the development of sensors and microsupercapacitors, Mr. Garbarino will pursue his post-doctoral training at the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique – Energie Mat\u00e9riaux et T\u00e9l\u00e9communication (INRS-EMT).<\/p>\n As a INRS Research Associate in Prof. Guay’s research group since 2011, he co-invented three patents and co-authored 67 publications. Mr. Garbarino also contributes to scientific committees of structuring projects such as the National Asbestos Observatory (ONA<\/a>) or CREATE training programs from NSERC (TrUST<\/a> and ISAM). Her work focused on optimizing organic planar heterojunction solar cells by developing and characterizing innovative hybrid buffer layers such as MoO\u2083:MoS\u2082 and MoO\u2083\/CuI.<\/p>\n Now based in Quebec, Hajar combines scientific expertise with experience in accounting, giving her both technical and organizational insight.
