The proposed design space will explore forming parts from 1 to 4 inches in depth, at different angles and stamping radii.  Other parameters will also be analyzed to evaluate part quality: waviness, wrinkling, fibres orientation, resin adaptation and final thickness. The goal is to validate process simulation tools in the design space, for characteristics such as main radius, typical thickness/lay up used and depth. Coupons will be built and analyzed to validate this process simulation. This process simulation will be then used to support the design phase of the fuel cover assembly to reduce the number of trials to validate a potential part.
